Meet Julia, a yellow little Muppet girl with, wait for it… Autism, Julia will be a part of the Sesame Street series, well not the main show but the digital and printed stories, she comes in as a part of the See Amazing in All Children initiative.
Over 7000 children in the UK have Autism and as such the character I supposed to help them fit in with society better, according to executive vice president of the nonprofit organization SherrieWestin,”We want to create greater awareness and empathy.”He further says “Families with autistic children tend to gravitate towards digital content, which is why we created Julia digitally”.
