According to a study in Sweden which examined 5.5 million people including men and women, taller people have a higher risk of developing different types of cancer including breast cancer and melanoma.
The study has been the largest long term study carried out dealing with the association between height and cancer regarding both genders.
Studies done in the past have yielded similar results regarding height and cancer with the inclusion of breast cancer and melanoma. Although the study has never been conducted at this large a scale before.
The 54th Annual European Society for Paediatric Endocrinology Meeting in Spain was where the study was presented.
October is the breast cancer awareness month.
